IDK. I think 'we built this city' was a marker for a point in the time in the 80's. I was there when it came out and liked it and when I hear it now it reminds me of those sweet days. I think its a cool song showcasing the time. That breakdown in the middle where DJ starts talking is pure nostalgia for me. Grace was looking for a hit song at the time so she could retire so she was onboard with anything. In the 70's, 80's and early 90's we had the best music and movies and then it all died off around 1998 or before and became what it is now. No millennial could come up with a fun song like this today. All they can create is the same, lame song over and over

Yeah, The two songs are light-years apart stylistically. WBTC was a desperate attempt at staying relevant... Grace Slick was HOT back in the day!
