The energy you build up on the "victimized" side is capacitated until you can release it by making the teeter-totter swing the other way in four years (or whatever). It's the primary benefit of divide and conquer. You can always push the system out of equilibrium when you need to make it move one way or the other.

It has also occurred to me that "woke" policy is just all-around bad for a state, but it was a necessary evil to get the minimum demographic change they needed to secure a certain projection for a hundred years from now. Long-range math. Now that this change has occurred, they can just react like they're "rolling back" wokeness, when in reality, they secured the future outcome already, like a seed planted that's necessarily going to grow. Based on the numbers, probably a few thousand illegals deported will make an utterly negligible difference to the outcome a century from now.

But 99.99% of people only invest in events within their lifetime. It takes being truly wealthy elite to invest in outcomes fifty or a hundred years down the road, really, to even care about things that far away. When you're the poor, it's detrimental for you to invest on those timescales. To do it beneficially, you have to build up families, lineages that commit to carrying on a particular set of interests, and they've destroyed that world picture for most people. Believe it or not, outlawing cousin-fucking was a big factor in destroying family dynasties.
