What’s your thoughts on adult children living at home?

submitted by Trope to AskUpgoat 3 monthsJan 27, 2025 12:01:31 ago (+4/-1)     (AskUpgoat)

I ponder this. I grew up in a full house and miss those times dearly. When a child turns 18, I cannot see much in the way of benefit by shipping them off to school and severing their support network. I don’t care about the debacherous experience of dorm life when they can learn more working their way through school. Nor does it seem right that they should give their income away to pay rent to a landlord. I would be happy with my adult children so long as they are pursuing their goals: If I can walk into my son or daughters room and have them speak passionately on their efforts in whatever subject they may have chosen. (Hopefully not rock star)

Even if they live at home while making good money, I don’t see the problem. Although the concept is foreign to me because the American dream has always been to buy a house and start your own nuclear family. Mexicans can easily have ten people in a small house and collectively afford it. Asians will have several generations in one household. But Americans will sign up for a lifetime of debt while simultaneously disconnecting themselves from their ancestors - and that’s fucked up.

My goal in life is to be an old man surrounded by grandchildren. I want a full house. And the more brothers and sisters my children have, the less likely they’ll be susceptible to niggerkike influences.

What’s your thoughts?

It's fine so long as they aren't fat losers, and they help their family. No fat leeches.

Thats how it was for 1000’s of years.

I think forcing your kids into the rat race is good for the jews and bad for your kids. People need to do something, but paying jew rent, jew car payments with jew interest, buying jew insurance, putting money in jew banks, using jew credit cards, just so you can live in the world that benefits the jew is not the first best choice.

My sentiment exactly.

I’ve struggled through all the kike shit and would like to protect my bloodline.

Thats what I told my mom. "just because you fell for jew shit doesnt mean I or my kid have to" When she was telling my 19 year old it was time to leave the nest. Who the fuck is she?? I was livid. Then she told my kid she shouldnt have told me. Secrets?? I then told my mom secrets were for degenerates and my mom got all flustered. Fuck that I hate that innocent act they try pulling when called out.

I wanted to gather my children together and purchase a large piece of property to make a family legacy farm. Turn that farm into a family trust to be handed down thru the generations but I couldn't get my kids on board with the notion.

Love the idea. Perhaps when they’re older.

I have many siblings and most of them are successful. I can only wonder what great things we’d be able to accomplish if we worked together.

My kids are going to go to a trade school right out of highschool. No way in fuck would I send them up to college. Once they graduate there they will be able to get a great paying job and not need me and want to live their own lives, - as they should. All the grandbabies will come around to visit and if not then go visit them.

What trades?

I don’t see a problem with it if they are a year or so into their career and want to save money for their own place. I make that clear to my kids they don’t have to rush to move out, but save money and keep working toward that goal.

If the kid is unsure about a career and is wandering aimlessly, but keeps a part/full time job then they can stay a little longer but will be paying rent.

As for the lazy kid that doesn’t do anything, none of my kids are like that but see friends that let their kids freeload. They are only hurting them in the long run. I’d make their living there a miserable experience until they got their shit in order.

If the kid is very helpful around the house and actually making their parents life easier, then that’s another pass.

It has become NORMAL now. Ppl in their 40s are moving back home. There is nothing wrong with several generations under the same roof, as long as the yung ones aren't pothead loser leeches.

My mom purchased her first home at 20 with her husband, and at 30 years old making $35 an hour I couldn't afford a 2 bedroom condo.

Things are much different because of illegals. Get rid of illegals and housing will return to decent prices and wages will go up. Win/Win.

You're missing the mark... Illegal employment just depresses pay for manual labor. The real problem is money is worthless. In 1930 a 1 dollar bill would exchange for 2oz of silver... 2oz of silver now is worth 70 bucks... Can't blame beaners.

I think adult children will crave their own space. An RV or roll off shed could easily be outfitted into a good home for one person, especially if they don't need plumbing.

I think about this a lot myself. I have 8 children and the oldest is a 14 year old girl. I have told her she can stay with us until she gets married, potentially forever if she wishes. Same with the others. What we want is so far from what is common in this country, yet I agree 100% that it is unreasonable to send them out on their own, and I for one can not afford a child's rent plus my own lifes expenses.

Adult children living at home are almost exclusively parents who did not, or simply could not, teach their kids properly how to be successful and independent.

[ - ] Gowithit 1 point 3 monthsJan 27, 2025 13:55:12 ago (+1/-0)

I wasn't supposed to raise a girl to be successful and independent. The whole fucking game changed right at the end. I know I know AdApT or DiE but goddamit here we are.

My version of adapting is now unsuccessful parenting. Lol. Get fucked.

[ - ] FuckShitJesus -1 points 3 monthsJan 27, 2025 14:19:46 ago (+0/-1)

Your responsibility with your daughter was to prepare her to be the perfect mother & home warden for a successful man.

Nothing changed with this equation in the past 100 fucking years.

Get fucked, indeed.

I too one day will be a boomer and tell people that "I picked myself up by my own bootstraps"

haha Nothing changed. Sure.

[ - ] FuckShitJesus -1 points 3 monthsJan 27, 2025 16:42:53 ago (+0/-1)

You fell for jew propaganda that told you she should be a strong independent woman.

Congratulations.

Kill yourself.

Who what now?

you >Adult children living at home are almost exclusively parents who did not, or simply could not, teach their kids properly how to be successful and independent.

me >My version of adapting is now unsuccessful parenting.

pick your argument

I think it depends on the circumstance. As a young adult searching for work, I appreciated the opportunity to pay my folks money instead of a random landlord.

When job markets are trash, the opportunity to have the flexibility to coast in order to find a good job (rather than just a job to survive) can be important.

And that's something to pay forward too. Families are supposed to watch out for each other.

[ - ] registereduser 1 point 3 monthsJan 27, 2025 12:20:27 ago (+1/-0)

It's why we lost, past tense.

[ - ] Reunto 0 points 3 monthsJan 27, 2025 22:07:39 ago (+0/-0)

My goal in life is to be an old man surrounded by grandchildren

That's my dream too.

I have a lot of fire for family and I never understood the urge some people get to be materialistic in lieu of family.

Kicking kids out (when they are earnestly trying) never made sense to me.

[ - ] MaryXmas 0 points 3 monthsJan 27, 2025 21:07:05 ago (+0/-0)

The goal is to have a happy, loving and successful family. Do what it takes to get your family to that place.

[ - ] inaminit 0 points 3 monthsJan 27, 2025 17:57:05 ago (+0/-0)

Don't know how many kids you have but you're going to need a BIG house.

[ - ] Trope [op] 0 points 3 monthsJan 27, 2025 18:53:57 ago (+0/-0)

Problem is I have a BIG old house with no kids! The time has come to start making them.

They say “you’re never ready to have kids.” But I totally am. I’ve lived a good life and ant to start living for more than just myself.
