I've worked 1099 for what seems like forever, and when I get annoyed with it I sometimes fantasize about getting a real job. I live in a VERY military area of Socal near the border, so this often means government jobs, particularly with either the DoD or border patrol/DHS. And I've done some lazy applying for these jobs/light networking in the past, and the process for getting one of these jobs is unfathomably complicated to me. I just do not understand how someone achieves getting hired.
But with all the firings and more money being put into border activities, I am again considering it. Plus the idea of meritocracy, if it's real. I am in good physical shape and very hardworking; comfortable with field or office work (I'm a comms systems specialist) and have always advanced quickly in office environments.
What do I need to do to get into one of these jobs? Is it just a patience game? (I definitely lack that)
Show that you can manage others by setting yourself apart...don't apply. You can try social/political activism; freemasonry; volunteer fire brigade; sports; religions; charity etc.

While I'd also argue that it is full of niggers, if you have mil experience, you can typically walk into whatever job you want. Yep, just like that. I could get any of these Jobs you describe in San Diego (yes it was obvious)

friend of mine has gotten hired a few times for government positions but then always turned them down because it wasn't practical for her with kids (single mom). Seems easy enough she doesn't have like major qualifications she's just a paralegal but is typically 3 interviews. one of the more recent ones she had she was a little thrown off by because they were asking her about herself not regular interview questions but she said they were more personal questions.She said she was caught so off guard with that line of questioning she knew she wasn't getting it. Be ready for anything if you go that route.
I tried for several years to get one when I was younger and my dad convinced me that it would be great for me and how wonderful the benefits were. The application process for each job is ridiculous, complete with writing literal essays about your knowledge, skills and abilities. I spent hours doing all this and never once got a call. Finally I looked around and realized there was no way these room temp iq sheboons working for the government actually did all that. It was futile and I moved on.
Exactly. I've tried SO HARD with their voluminous process and never heard a word back. Yet I hear they were employing illegals and fucking sub 80 iq retards?
Government job availability is sorted by preference first. The highest preference is if you're already a government employed slug as in the military. Then they can just transfer you over since you've already been indoctrinated that you're the best and the government is always right which means you're always right.
Next comes race. Check the nigger box and you're in. They do luvs dem sum niggerz, especially the lazy ones who would otherwise be on welfare.
Let's say we're talking about Canadian government. They have DE&I quotas in play. The targets can change year by year. Sometimes a category has met its quota for that year.
The DE&I target groups are: women, disabled, Aboriginal, and non-White minority.
If you don't fit into those categories, you will need a leg up through nepotism or some kind of networking.
The other way in is to get a low-level entry level job that allows them the opportunity to check you out low-risk. From there you apply internally and will have a bit better chance.
It's obviously more nuanced than that. There are things you have to mind about how you present your resume and cv.
Just realize a lot of the time the hiring managers and HR have no idea what the job is actually about.
