Most of the artists complaining about AI still think that AI cuts and pastes pieces of their art to make new art and that is not what ai does.
Ai learns in the exact same way a human brain does so any new guitarist who has listened to Jimmy Page and been influenced by Jimmy Page and then goes out to make his own song that has elements of a Jimmy Page like sound to it is doing exactly what AI is doing and no more and no less.
So most of these artists complaints have no basis unless they also want to limit every human brain from ever hearing their own music and then building upon that in their own career as an influence.
I haven't had an ounce of respect for Jimmy Page since he did a duet with P Diddler to ruin "Kashmir" for one of the Godzilla movies. What an utter desecration of a classic rock song. Sorry Jimmy, but I had to sit through a music video where P Diddler eye fucks a bad CGI version of Godzilla. I'm in favor of you never getting a royalty check again.
Using his pre-Zeppelin career as a session musician as a bedrock to his argument, Page says: “I was required to create and conjure riffs and lyrical figures immediately without slowing down the momentum of the work being recorded with the other musicians and the artist.
“This journey from the anonymity of session work to the global stages with Led Zeppelin was not a path paved by algorithms or data sets. The alchemy that transformed a unique riff into an anthem was etched into the collective soul of the band – a synergy that no machine can emulate.
“Today,” his statement continues, “as artificial intelligence seeks to mimic and monetize creativity, we stand at a crossroads. AI-generated art and music, synthesized from existing human works, lack the visceral essence that comes from lived experience. They are but hollow echoes, devoid of the struggles, triumphs, and soul that define true artistry. GuitarWorld.
As well as being a great player Jimmy Page is pretty well spoken.
