Why tf does. Columbia University need so much federal money

Yes they are being punished by Trump for the Hamasnik rape tents on campus and antisemitism. But please help me understand why the fuck a private university needs so much federal aid. Don't they have a massive endowment from their extremely wealthy alumnae? The common person benefits not one iota from the Ivy League. Give the funds to a land grant school that takes all citizens. Why are we doing this? It's infuriating.

Columbia is the university that gave us all the wonderful Frankfurt school. Basically a bunch of subversive jews pushing cultural marxism in the United States. I.e feminism, drug culture, and so forth.
