I wouldn't discount it being Abraham, although it sounds more like Abraham worked with cattle and sheep.

But Abraham's father or uncles could definitely fit the description.

My take is that Ea-Nasir got ran out of Ur for selling (((poor quality copper))).
And so, he needed to change his identity to Terah and converted his wealth to something that could run away with him, thus he arrives in Cannan as a goat herder.

Probably not a bad theory.

There are only 10 generations from Noah to Abraham, and in theory that meant pretty much everyone may have known of everyone else, although at some point in the 400 years the distances and travels could have some relatives not really knowing each other.

And still they went to war against each other too. I can imagine scheming and trickery happening all the time.
