There are other examples. There is more than one example of the most rabid Southern sympathizers being Yankees that moved south. Overcompensating I suppose. McCarthy went after WASP Communists to prove his patriotism as an 'outsider' Irish Catholic

Do you have a Southern accent? Lots of transplants in the South of course. Raleigh and Atlanta are underfoot with them.
