That time of year again.

submitted by Anotherone to whatever 1 monthMar 15, 2025 11:01:44 ago (+3/-2)     (whatever)

Couple friends of mine in stillwater Ok lost their homes from wildfires yesterday. Some more were impacted by the tornadoes last night.

Sure that some of you know this, but perhaps others do not. If you are in an area under a tornado watch it means conditions are favorable for a tornado, a warning means an area of rotation has been confirmed on radar and a tornado is imminent.

Some tips to survive.

Stay away from windows, doors, and open areas. Get to the center of your home, a hallway is ideal, or a bathroom and get in the tub with a mattress over you.

If you are looking at the tornado and it is getting bigger that means it is getting closer. They can track at 60mph on the ground as well. You will not outrun it.

If you look up and the sky is green, that means it will come down near you most of the time. After a tornado be mindful of debris, lots of nails, and sharp shit will be nearby.

Call 911 and report your location and if your neighbors are OK, home, dead. Be mindful and be prepared.

Remind me to tell you the story about the christtards, the atheist, the company policies and the tornado some day.

Shit is hilarious.

Nothing amusing about a natural disaster to me.

Don't answer it/him/her,it'll only twist your sound advice into a joke.

Thanks, for your input, you sound like you have a bit of experience.

I do, lost some family to tornadoes and other natural disasters, lost friends too.

They can make light of it and make jokes to amuse themselves if it helps them.

Hopefully when or if it happens to them they know I won't joke around and will assist in any way I can.

Growing up in Oklahoma I learned that with acts of God such as this you help one another. Put aside difference and animosity so you can help one another.

Lol, truth be told. I am Cherokee mostly, as American as one can be with first nations blood.

Hopefully we can help one another via this site, seeing as this year and storm season will be biblical.

Is that a roundabout way of saying "I was right"? Thanks!

Said hilarious, not amusing, but ya it was that too. Very much so.

Remind me later.

Ammo Up, and prepare for "looter" patrols!
