It occurred to me recently that a natural reaction to many current environmental, political, financial factors would be depression. Maybe in some cases even very serious depression. In fact, it would be a bit strange to NOT be depressed under most of these circumstances.
The depression itself would lead many to make changes in their lives. And despite assertions otherwise, I've yet to meet a depressed person who had "no reason" to be.
One reason I think the health care industry promotes this so hard is that depression may be a spiritual illness for some people. Missing the presence of God or even just hope in their lives.
Maybe there's is a version of depression that is a mental illness. But I think most of it is a natural reaction to life. And I think it does a disservice to depressed people to pile on them that they are also wrong and sick for feeling that way. I wonder if many people would be able to recover with the affirmation that their depression is valid.
I suffer from an inflammatory illness and I can get suicidally depressed at the drop of a hat when exposed to inflammation triggers.
If I avoid the triggers I am perfectly fine.
From my perspective therefore, at least one cause of depression is most certainly physical, and caused by brain inflammation. I.e. chronic severe depression is a symptom of the actual matter inside your head being poisoned in some way. Your nervous system is literally physically suffering I'm some way, and the manifestation of this effect is depression. Nightmares are also related to this effect. A healthy brain seldom suffers from nightmares, and nightmares in general is therefore a sign of neurological stress (physical / chemical / emotional). Same with depression.
Its an electro-chemical phenomenon. Im not convinced it is always pathological although it almost certainly is in some people. Theres a range of behaviors that might be considered “normal” and some people in that range might be more prone to depressive symptoms than others. I don’t think that is a disorder.
No that’s the lie they used to push chemical imbalances and drug fixes; believing in that actually made depressed people worse and turned them into serial killers.
Your own body, if treated properly, not only corrects the electro-chemical disorder but also the so called depression. No external drugs are needed other than proper nutrition, sunlight, and moderate exercise.
Most depression is situational. It is NORMAL for an adult to feel down some or a lot of the time. 'Fuuuuuuck!' There is always a lot to be mad or sad about. I try to stay busy. Gettin shit done is a good morale booster. Throw away your TV, I did many years ago.

I don't want to imply that I don't think it's real, just that it's a natural reaction to things and shouldn't be stigmatized as some kind of disorder. In so many cases, it seems quite ordered.
Depression is probably the result of having a problem with no perceived cure (i.e. being 'stuck'), that you really want to change but can't.
It's not the circumstances themselves that cause the depression, it's the wanting to change but not knowing how. For example, simply knowing we're cattle species with no hope of changing isn't necessarily depressing when you realize there simply is no cure. Being depressed over that would be like being depressed over the sometimes painful effects of gravity.
yes it is there's mental or clinical depression and there's non clinical where you can feel the blues because a relative of yours has passed, your lost your job or your wife/hubby. the difference is that clinical depression can be severe with loss of hope, extremely feelings of guilt of the most minor things, lost of pleasure in the stuff that you used to enjoy. undereating or overeating, not sleeping well or sleeping too much. sexual dysfunction (unless your manic) constant negative thoughts to the extreme of suicidal ideation emotional numbness from copilot
Clinical depression and sadness differ significantly in their nature and impact. Sadness is a temporary emotional response to life's challenges, such as loss or disappointment. It fades with time and doesn't typically interfere with daily functioning2.
Clinical depression, on the other hand, is a persistent mental health condition that affects emotional, physical, and social aspects of life. Symptoms include prolonged feelings of hopelessness, loss of interest in activities, changes in sleep and appetite, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and even thoughts of self-harm3. Unlike sadness, depression requires professional diagnosis and treatment.
a) All perceivable implies impression; each ones perception implies expression...consenting to the suggestions of another implies depressing self, while permitting another to suppress one.
b) Ones mind wants to hold onto, but needs to let go of, hence letting go relieving depression.
c) The opposite of ill implies sound/sanus - "entire; whole; all"...that's why one gets ill when ignoring sound (perceivable) for words (suggested). This also relates to dis-ease, hence a division of tranquility (ease) within ones mind, when ignoring perceivable by holding onto suggested.
Notice the saying "being of sound mind" aka sophronismos...
a natural reaction to many current...would be depression
Nature implies one current (inception towards death) for each one (life) within, a depression implies burdening self with suggested (fiction), while ignoring that perceivable (reality) cannot be held onto since a current moves.
For example...a jew tempts gentiles to hold onto artificial currency, while ignoring natural current, which establishes economic depression.
to NOT be
a) A jew suggests nihil-ism (Latin nihilo; nothing) to tempt gentiles to de-nial perceivable for suggested.
b) TO (inception towards death) BE (life)...that's what one de-nies, when consenting to suggested nihil-ism.
c) The suggested saying: "to be OR not to be" tempts one from both sides to consent to OR (either; else; otherwise; alternative; substitute)...there's no substitute for nature; only ones denial of perceivable nature by submitting to suggested artifice by another.
to make changes in their lives
Ongoing change (inception towards death) implies the foundation for temporal choice (life); while make/mag - "to knead, fashion, fit" implies shaping during change, which represents MAGIC and MASONRY for those who hold onto suggested shapes (idols/ideals).
"no reason" to be
Reason implies conflict among beings about each others suggestions, such as YES vs NO. Both sides mutually consent to VERSUS/VERTO - "to turn"; hence turning against each other, while ignoring that nature straightens (inception towards death) apart (life).
The current of nature implicates (if/then)...no conflict. Reason represents the inversion of implication, hence tricking one to hold onto a side, while ignoring the current of nature moving through one. That's the foundation for self inflicted depression.
natural reaction to life
Nature implies action (cause); life implies reaction (effect)...nature doesn't react to life; the natural order forces life to react as free will of choice by either resisting (need) or falling for the temptation (want) of ignoring to resist.

I'll let you guess (((how))) society ended up this way.
The solution is to get kids more connected to nature and to the basic needs of humanity: food, housing, partner.
