They look ridiculous. Zero uniformity. Everyone's hair is and beard is all over the fucking place. Uniforms look like shit, lack of discipline while marching... I think there's a reason that militaries take this shit seriously. Most of the world adopted some form of the Prussian method, which involves strict discipline.

I can't imagine strict discipline being in place at any location in Canada.

My father fought alongside some Canucks in 'Nam, he said he liked them and that they were skilled and professional. Of course, that's over 60 years ago... a lot changed, most noticeably the demographics. When I was a kid, a "Canadian person" was just a White American who lacked the viciousness of actual Americans. The founding stock of the country, disregarding the French fur traders, was all 100% American Whites who fled up here when they lost the Revolutionary War. Most were simply "Loyalists" who couldn't stay in the US and were given land by the English Crown and resettled just across the border in what later became Ontario. So the original idea that we were all one Nation with an artificial border is correct.

The entire reason Canada was created was, as always, a British ploy to keep the US from taking the whole continent. They were especially worried about the US connecting Alaska to the rest of the continental US. If you look at the timelines, it all starts to make sense.

1) never see combat, for they lack what is required, or
2) die in short order relearning the same lessons their forefathers had previously paid for in blood.

This is what a complete breakdown of the NCO corps looks like after the NCOs collectively realize that they no longer have the backing of the CoC to get shit done right.

You go to war with the army you have, right now, not the army you wish you had at some point in the future.

Soldier's excellence cannot be mass produced overnight. It requires constant daily effort.

I would seriously consider coming out of retirement simply for the challenge alone if a nation's chief executive told me:

I agree that programming humans works, whether in military affairs or in daily life.

Frying bacon naked is fine if you use a lid or a fine spatter screen. You need the extra fine screen though. Mine is just normal, so I have to lay an unfolded napkin over it to catch all the spatters.

I switch between kirkland and hemplers. Am on hemplers atm, and it produces very little grease, so virtually no spatters. Kirkland produces probably 15 times more bacon grease, so spatters go everywhere.
