I watched the #2 video where they soldered the wire to the PCB turret. If I would have taken the finished product from that video to the instructor my Electronics Technician Maintenance School class, I would have gotten chewed out for excessive solder. The nuclear navy was not kidding around when it came to maintenance and repair of nuclear instrumentation and control equipment.
Then came the 0402 components and hand soldering became a black magic art. Took a tour of an assembly house about a year ago, and their pick and place machines were just mesmerizing to watch.
