It's pretty funny how the Chinks are reacting to the tariffs... I'm enjoying their strategy.

Lululemon went straight to hell when they stopped shaming fats and ugly women (but I repeat myself) from buying their stuff. Butter golems reee’d because tight yoga pants weren’t made in a 5XL. Then they started hiring unkempt niggers (again I repeat myself) and fuckall no-one in the family considered buying them.

I go out of my way to buy American or European

I'm pretty sure there is a filter on her face. Look closely. It's making her appear whiter. The eyes are what tipped me off. I could be wrong, but that's my impression.

Whitening filters are like second skin to asians

if it forces high dollar companies to either make more locally, or to lower prices, then I'm all for it.

China have already stated they will now no longer honour IP rights or patents and will steal everything the US designs and undercut them on cost.
Interesting times.

So, business as usual. Got it.

[ - ] Lophan 5 points 2 monthsApr 14, 2025 22:42:31 ago (+5/-0)

Not if you're trying to be funny, but they haven't honored IP and have been undercutting everyone for a long time now

I’m gonna steal your nudes

[ - ] LookFat 3 points 2 monthsApr 15, 2025 08:54:22 ago (+3/-0)

Itll show the world that they are as big of scammers/thieves as India.

[ - ] Rotteuxx [op] 2 points 2 monthsApr 14, 2025 21:03:37 ago (+2/-0)

Who are the bigger scammers? Big corpos making bank on junk because they've employed psychological manipulation techniques to build a following or the manufacturer saying "Fuck those guys, let's do business directly!"

[ - ] HonkyMcNiggerSpic 3 points 2 monthsApr 14, 2025 21:26:12 ago (+3/-0)

China are scammers. They steal patents from all over the world, remake the product cheaply and sell it. They should be nuked. We should turn Japan loose on their asses. Arm Japan with some really good military gear.

[ - ] Rotteuxx [op] 1 point 2 monthsApr 14, 2025 23:18:54 ago (+1/-0)

There should be serious limitations to patent laws. Having the know-how and the capacity to produce something should allow you to do it, if royalties are owed on it, so be it but fuck that patent trolling bullshit.

As far as international trade, I'd support tariffs over IP infringement so that the injured party gets fair compensation, royalties.

[ - ] registered_bot 1 point 2 monthsApr 15, 2025 09:39:21 ago (+1/-0)

I agree, if I can make it in mass quantities and sell it, I should be able to. Royalties should be capped as well.

The fact someone can hold a patent that doesn't allow me to make something and sell it is absurd.

The guy selling OEM Coach purses was pretty good too.

All of a sudden vapid people will discover they're getting ripped off.

I shop a lot on AliExpress, besides the obvious junk, I've hit some pretty darn good deals for pennies on the dollar. It's not that I don't want to support local businesses, it's that I'd rather not buy anything from north american corporations that run crazy profit margins.

[ - ] observation1 1 point 2 monthsApr 14, 2025 20:24:56 ago (+1/-0)

If you have the patience to talk to a chinaman over the course of 2/weeks, alibaba is much cheaper than aliexpress for large ticket purchases.

However, I think when then tarrif war is over it might be indiababa for that shit.

Buy American for what you can.

I tried that, 635 mesh stainless steel fabric in small quantities is hard AF to get at a good price, they all want to sell you a 50 yard roll. Best price I got for a sq. yd. "sample size" is 350$... for some items there are simply no deals to be found. In the US, cheapest I found is around 600$ + shipping :/

North America is decades from having any serious manufacturing capabilities, it's not just infrastructure, it's the work force as well... Besides, it's not a trade war, it's the great reset.

Robots/ AI incoming.

[ - ] Rotteuxx [op] 2 points 2 monthsApr 14, 2025 23:06:27 ago (+2/-0)

To a certain extent, yes.

Especially in the services industry, in manufacturing, it has its place but can't replace humans completely. Forget maintenance, that's pure manual labour and manufacturing needs a shit ton of it.

[ - ] NeverHappened 1 point 2 monthsApr 14, 2025 23:09:57 ago (+1/-0)

For now. It's going to be pretty crazy eventually if it doesn't all fall apart before then.

[ - ] WanderingToast 1 point 2 monthsApr 16, 2025 01:02:01 ago (+1/-0)

This is the thing about the tariffs, the savings were never passed on to the customers... Kill local jobs, keep more money, still put up prices.

But this could be a great moment for China. If they play the hand right, and figure out reliable direct to consumer...

[ - ] recon_johnny 1 point 2 monthsApr 15, 2025 00:36:48 ago (+1/-0)

I think they’ve known, just ignored to show the label. We know some American Chinese, and holeee fuck, it’s all they do.
