Just make another state. There needs to be a lot more push to restructure the US anyway.
Considering at the creation of the states there were no major cities or hubs identified - mostly due to lack of big non-river infrastructure - the populations that arose did (and do) not represent the entirety of any state.
Start from scratch and make a larger number of states and go back to 20,000 people per representative. This will greatly increase the amount of (((work))) needed to corrupt the country (with 17,000 representatives) and everyone would have a much stronger voice.
This whole "take what you get" mentality is pretty archaic in today's world.
That's a good point, these states were formed over a hundred years ago and basically started from scratch each time. So much has changed..it does feel like the entire map needs to be re-drawn. More states has to be a better thing though.

Land grants from the king of England were done when there was no colonial presence, and used geographic borders, like rivers. Nobody knew where any of the population centers would emerge and how big they would get - ie, LA and NYC, etc.
There are so many disenfranchised voters living in so many states. Look at the voting trends by county - especially for 2016. Killary almost won the popular vote with less than 200? of the counties. For local affairs, those counties dominate the laws. It just doesn't give a fair voice for the rest of the citizens.
The alternative to a big purge (one of my other favorite ideas) is to redraw everything to return the voices to the overlooked. And more representation is way better than less, and the biggest impact technology can have is to allow 17,000 representatives to work together.
this might end up being how this all goes. major blue cities might just see their red counties jump ship to red states. eastern oregon was talking about joining idaho a while back. we just going to have giant metropolitan cities that cant raise enough taxes to pay for all the shitskins on welfare.
