I went to a church on Easter Sunday. Got me some God. Was a decent enough time, although there was a bunch of guilt-tripping. Heh.

My point is that the pastor asked for people to donate because they were giving the money to the poor people in Myanmar who suffered the big earthquake. And I was thinking "Myanmar? Why not people here in the USA who have suffered just as much (if not more because of the generally elevated quality of life here)?"

I'm not hating on the Myanmarese (or whoever). But I like to see people and organizations who help those close to home - to help keep OUR communities safe and going and healthy. We need to make sure the good communities in the USA thrive.

The Amish (as weird and messed up as they may be for some things) are ultimately good people doing good things and we should be thankful they're here.
