Nursing has religious significance?

I’m shocked.

Nursing is actually such an amazing experience. One of the most interesting things to me was if I was nursing and a non relative man was nearby, the hair would stand up on the back of my neck and I'd instantly become irrationally angry and defensive. Just filled with rage. Think, men milling around outside the closed door of a mother's room at the airport. Obviously I wouldn't act on these emotions, but I would feel myself seething and clinging on to the baby like an attack was imminent. So raw. Also, if a baby would cry anywhere near me, the milk would just let down.

Nursing puts women in EXTREMELY close contact with their natural instincts, especially when it comes to bad people, threats to the family and bad "vibes" in general. It certainly has religious elements. It's obvious why they convinced women to stop doing it in the 70s. In my mom's time, breastfeeding had become considered VERY low class so nobody wanted to do be seen doing it. Tragic.
