The fact that this pup is consciously controlling the acceleration rate (speeding up to catch up and slowing down to avoid a car) indicates he understands how the equipment works. Thats more cognitively impressive than kicking off a skateboard.

Dogs don't really see us as part of the pack. More like a friend of the pack who is somehow magical. Like an elvish friend who offers copious amounts of wonderous food, performs everyday magic, and guides when more wisdom is needed.

We can already. You know that it's physically impossible for a dog to speak like us right? It took a long time to evolve our language to where it is today.

Maybe in a few 100,000 years dogs could make more intricate sounds, but I doubt humans would care if we were still around by that time.

Dogs might not even develop that ability regardless.

We have to solve it ourselves with technology, if it's even possible.

More seriously, we communicate with dogs through looks, sounds, and behaviors. If you have a good relationship with your (intelligent breed) dog, you're mostly on the same wavelength.
