Cute, but that thing would be such a bitch to clean thoroughly. And look at the mess it's already made by not having a lip to hold the bedding in. And trying to grab chicks that are on the back side of the spool core... no thanks. I'll just keep using a big plastic bin.
Not a bad brooder. You'd need a door on the other side, too. This might be better for ducklings since they won't scratch all the bedding out the sides.
