China can't produce the highly specialized, high quality items needed for their Boeing / Air-Bus commercial fleet. Without the LARGE amount of goods needed to support their transportation infrastructure, they would have to shut it all down.

Imagine shutting down 80% of the U.S. commercial airliners for 3-4 years until they could tool up to make their own.
