Tesla sales have been declining for a year or so. Many EV subsidies also ended which kneecapped the sales in a number of countries.

No because it’s not a profitable industry. Elon makes it so so they can offer a car or two. Once they don’t have to provide an ev just to show they can against Tesla, they’ll all be looking for an out and the media will provide the excuse.
