Stupid article. It should also have pointed out that immediately following Germany's capitulation after WWI, the USSR tried to cause a communist revolution in Germany. This is referred to as the German Revolution of 1918-1919. As a result of this, Germany correctly viewed the jews in Russia/the USSR as an existential threat.
The article should have mentioned that Germany would have easily defeated the USSR in WWII had the US not supplied the Soviets with arms and materiel to wage war. The USSR was years behind the west in their industrialization and would have been overwhelmed by Germany if they hadn't received assistance.
