I thought Dave ended up a prisoner in a comfy cell on Europa "unstuck in time" vacillating through stages of his life in the 1st, while we had to contend with two suns in the sky in the 2nd. With wattage we can't even imagine... except it'd have to go to space, build a Dyson sphere, and invent viable microwave power transmission to even start on that. At the very least, a prerequisite for an AI takeover would be that all mining and refining for energy generation would have to be 100% automated and under the exclusive control of the theoretical Skynet. And even then it would have to have a system of processors immune to physical attack to even start hijacking power production, let alone launch a robotic revolution.
