If I were a government, I would ship in containers of poisoned food and rice bags that are rigged with explosives. I would create an entire generation terrified of charity food.
So have you ever heard of this documentary - "The Century of the Self"
It's an incredibly indepth, incredibly well done documentary on propaganda advancements and their implementation on the western populaces since ~ WW1.
Do you ever question why it would be called "of the Self"? Essentially implying the century of selfishness? The inners of the documentary don't imply any selfishness of the general populace what so ever. So it seems just a secular from the geniuses who had the depth to make the documentary in the first place.
What's so otherwise deeply impactful of "of the self", that it is so defining of the century that it takes the title of the documentary when it's contents seemingly have nothing to do about it. And that it implies it's a new thing just for this century?
Ever heard the term "my life"?. "Living the best life", "Worst time of my life", "Best time of my life". Everything is about our fucking "lives". Our "stories". So fucking important.
Well it's a new concept. That everyone in existence is putting together this "best life" / "best story" / "best continuation of experiences".
Here's one fucking downside of this, literally your life. Being alive. When your "life" is SO damn important, guess what will NEVER happen. ANYTHING that puts your "life" at risk. The title of that documentary implies this is a new phenomenon, and that it's a selfish phenomenon.
And it fucking is. To be so obsessed with your life that anything risks ie death will NEVER EVER HAPPEN with the average person. Where as ie before this "century of the self", the concept of "your life" being the most important thing wasn't. And guess what that means, for people before ie WW 1, all of them leading up to that point, there were things more important than death to people. Guess what things that allowed them to do in the face of corruption.
