My only theory is dead-Internet. Even here.. It seems most bots are interacting, not humans. If you post something contrary, you get voats, comments, "gay/jew/faggot/nigger" replies.. But you post an informative comment... Nothing... The bots don't know how to interact because it doesn't instigate discord.

Not sure if he's lying or just stupid, but there IS a backup. A second 747, in fact. There are two VC-25A's in service. The primary aircraft's tail number is 28000, and the other is 29000.
Also any military aircraft carrying the President uses the callsign $ServiceBranch One, and the USAF has used other models before for logistical or security reasons. If it's an Air Force plane and the President is onboard, it's Air Force One.
So there are plenty of aircraft that can be used. They just might not have the same amenities as either VC-25, but they do get used when the need arises.
The two new VC-25B's are still undergoing refits to include all the same security capabilities as the existing pair. But there will still be two of them.
