While investigators are still working to fully confirm it was the work of Bartkus, they believe he foreshadowed his attack in a manifesto he posted to the internet, along with a 30-minute audio recording. Bartkus was an adherent to a strange philosophy called "pro-mortalism," which encourages the extinction of humanity and other sentient beings to preclude the suffering associated with life. Hand in hand with that belief goes Bartkus' embrace of "anti-natalism," which argues that nobody should have children -- a belief that bears directly on his targeting of a fertility clinic.

'atkus, who lived about 60 miles away in Twentynine Palms, had been coping with depression and some sort of personal relationship struggles, according to law enforcement sources that spoke to NBC News. It's not yet been reported if, like so many other mentally-troubled people who lash out violently, Bartkus was taking SSRI antidepressant drugs.

From the OP:

"Hand in hand with that belief goes Bartkus' embrace of "anti-natalism," which argues that nobody should have children -- a belief that bears directly on his targeting of a fertility clinic."

Sounds very much like Gnosticism. Maybe the Cathar variant of it.

In my conversations with Chris Wray in 2023 it became obvious the feds know very well how fucked up this society is and what kind of weirdos it is producing. My weirdo plan is actually a lot better than some other emerging scenarios, he said.

I'd be an adherent of a version of "Pro-mortalism" that encourages the extinction of excess humanity to preclude the suffering associated with overpopulation.

Ideally we'd be able to self-regulate on our own, but that's obviously not the case.

Expansion is one of the essential features of life.
It is to the pain and pleasure of all, that life continues.
And these are the experiences that define not just human existence, but all existence.
The qualities which make life worth living.

Those afraid of or avoidant of either pain or pleasure, have already lost the essential will to power, let alone will to live.

Their existence, these 'pro-mortalists' is therefore of no meaningful consequence to the greater scheme of the universe. Let him who does not love life, the good and the bad, go away on his own to some haunt and be forgotten.

Population pressure drives progress because necessity is the mother of invention. Those against it are therefore the enemies of humanity's survival.
