Church is a business. They are in business to keep church officials employed. More people coming into the US increases the pool of potential customers attending church services. Simple as.
It's not even like fucking capitalists wanting cheaper labor than what native workers will work for. In this case you mostly just want more people, period. Though this is a particular bonanza for the Roman church, the largest resettler of refugees, due to America's proximity to Latin America and Mexico.
But the potential is there. If they come here they may attend.
Churches give out food and such to try and increase attendance. Poor refugees will tend to go to them for food assistance. Then they might get hooked into attendance. Meanwhile, churches get state subsidies to feed people. Or can justify their business to private givers.
