Probably not because this guy is not homeless. He lives in a nice upper middle class house which is evident when the US Marshalls pull up with loudspeakers at the end. Still, the only reason they found him was because he's stable and has money to eat at fast food and drive. The homeless are more slippery and have eratic movements so they're harder to spot. But it's only a matter of time when one is in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I used to make fun of Oklahoma too. But since most major metropolitan cities in North America have become unaffordable and priced out the poor I have been looking at purchasing real estate property in places like Oklahoma or Arkansas. The land and buildings are cheap. The weather is milder. Living costs are also lower for everything from gas to food. The people of Oklahoma or a small town somewhere are probably pretty ignorant and uninformed but I could be wrong. I don't spend much time in small towns and I've never been to Oklahoma so I wouldn't know what to expect.
But if I have a choice between being able to afford nothing and staying homeless for the rest of my life or investing in a small hick town or cheap states like Oklahoma then I'll gladly hold my nose and take the dive. It can't be that bad. And I'm not a typical bourgeoisie yuppy metrosexual urbanite. We shouldn't overlook places like Oklahoma as offering alot of value for your money instead of making fun of them.
But I don't have any money right now to buy anything. This is just hypothetical.
I have some family connection like a county or two over from the Little Dixie part of Oklahoma. Family stories of a day trip to the lone Catholic town in the area and thinking how exotic these papists were with their incense and pomp and circumstance.
That was during the Great Depression though.
By reputation it'd probably be better for you than Arkansas. Then again, the Ozarks are actually in both. You trade niggers for injuns. Lots of meth in Oklahoma.
I looked into homes in rural Oklahoma some years ago. If anything I thought them surprisingly expensive.
It's not really a great idea to be homeless in a red state. Not that you would be but I'd be. I had a guy from Alabama note that the pigs will profile you and just haul your ass to jail. Republicans don't like bohemians. They think you're supposed to be a good citizen, working, preferably own a business. Oklahoma?

I hear ya. I wouldn't want to be broke in a red state either. Especially now adays.
There's cheap property in small towns in Illinois as well. Once you get out of the city and into small town and rural areas the price for real estate just drops. There's not much to do or anywhere to go besides some Walmart or a dive bar but it's not like we're living such glamorous and luxurious lives in our current urban setting while partaking in the most trendy fine dining restaurants and night club establishments the city has to offer.
Our lives suck shit so I can't see it getting much worse in Oklahoma or Arkansas or Rockport, Illinois or something to be honest - if one is able to scrape enough to purchase real estate and be a property owner of course, not on the streets. I can see red states harrassing the homeless and criminalizing poverty. I wouldn't want to deal with that. Hell, Rockport is just a few hours outside of Chicago.
That video is probably the typical small business owner in Oklahoma. He's just a bit more flashy with his racism.
