Same here. About 10 or so years ago there was a "documentary" about some team of researchers working on polio or disease like that they were trying to say HIV was started by accident by a botched virus in the late 60s and early 70s. It's a load of shit, of course.

HIV is real, but AIDS is a syndrome. There are people who get HIV and never know it because they don't develop AIDS, and there are people who get HIV and it turns into AIDS overnight. There's clearly more to the syndrome than just the virus, and different presentations are basically different diseases.

I can't currenly find a copy of the study that isn't paywalled, but a 2014 meta-analysis concluded that the risk of contracting HIV from vaginal sex with an infected woman is less than one in 2,000. The risk from taking it up the butt was 35 times that, and needle drugs 15 times. Curiously needlestick incidents from known contaminated blood was about a third as dangerous as drug use, so I'd say that points to the drugs themselves (and the damage they do to your immune system) as a risk factor, and a component of the sydndrome.

But I concur that casual heterosexual sex is a poor choice. There's plenty else you can catch from nasty sluts inlcuding double herpes (as in, two strains both infecting your junk.) To say nothing of the fact that your time and energy could be better spent doing most anything else besides boning low-value women.
