Lol modern-ish line array speakers in 1955 would be hilarious. Patent was still classified, but Shure and others had figured out speaker transducers in a vertical line had a better dispersion pattern. But specific horn geometries, power amp density and better adhesives are the real developments. Cabinets are still plywood, cones are still paper. Horn drivers have been around far before ā55, but lotta tweaks to improve linearity, which is just math; plenty of great horns before computer sims.
Edit: Ha and I think Iād be able to figure out digitally-controlled-analog consoles. Nothin fancy, just buttons/ encoders controlling remote (by feet) logic gates. Those were a bit after ā55 tho?
