I have some PTSD from my middle school friend telling my crush that I looked her up on google street view, something I told him in a moment of honesty. He went and told her and I had to defend myself. I never forgot that, and despite talking to the same friend for another 15 years, I ghosted him last year.
My new friend did the same. I was with an older lady that I was seeing and she is cute and we get along and have good chemistry, and we all met up at the park, us three, and I was trying to do pullups and failed, and my friend immediately sprang up and banged out some pullups, and made comments about my medical condition I told him about in private and about how I'm uncoordinated.
In both cases they were short non-whites. Can somebody explain the thought process of these guys? I always try to make my friends look good in front of girls. Build them up. Why don't they do that for me? What are the wisest solutions you have?

1. Some of this is normal. People compete. You started the pullup thing by your own admission. That's a quantifiable skill. 90% chance it’s just because they’re none White. But In my experience, when multiple friends in a group do shit like this, it’s some mix of envy and denial on their part. Like some cognitive dissonance between wanting to think they’re above you somehow, yet envying you in some way. I backed down from a couple fights in early highschool just out of fear of confrontation, when everyone knew I’d completely crush the other guy. And there was a cpl kids later that year that thought they could walk over me, and had to learn better. But it presented in weird passive aggressive ways like that.

First, get rid of these friends. They're not friends, and much like you, people change over time. If you explain to them that you don't want things you say to them in confidence to be used against you in public, and they do it, that's more than enough cause to tell them that they're not worth your time or presence. I've gotten rid of friends that I've known for years throughout high school and college for various reasons; some got married and had kids and we grew apart, and some others, in even worse cases, never grew beyond their high school personalities and got tiresome and annoying to deal with, even going to the point of calling me names for leaving them behind when I started acting with maturity.
Second, start acting with maturity and integrity. If you ever get told something in confidence, write it down somewhere secret, if you have to, but NEVER repeat it. Ever. If you violate the rules that you want others to act by, they'll violate your rules when they see that you don't hold onto the standard. Be careful of crossing the line, or your line will get crossed by everyone else.
TLDR: two short rules from the Bible: nature abhors a void space, and your personality is lacking the traits to make those around you to keep to their word, and remember that you shall reap what you have sown. Study this well.
