I can open something and enjoy a few pages. But even if I like it I just don't care I guess. I dont listen to music either.

It's one or my all time favorite books.. top 5 for sure.

Lonesome dove is great as well if you want a book that will have you laughing then pull a gut wrenching moment not soon after.

My dad looked just like Hawkeye Pierce and when I was a child I thought they were the same person, that probably every adult was on TV, that MASH was the show with my dad in it. Life was a party in 1983

I don't think you're missing anything. The premise and first, oh, third or so were funny. After that it dragged and meandered. You've probably already read all the entertaining bits anyway.
