unique German hunting knife from 1528 CE that doubles as a wheellock pistol. It's not just a tool; it features an etched calendar for the year 152934 CE and the craftsman's name, Ambrosius Gemlich. This fascinating blend of weaponry and artistry showcases incredible craftsmanship from its time.

Depends, are you trying to have a knife with a handheld method of dispatching wounded game, or are you swinging them around like giant axes while also taking perfectly accurate shots? The latter is, well, a fantasy.
This may have been the first time a knife and a gun were combined into a single weapon, but it wasn't the last. The Apache revolver was designed and built in the 19th century.
As nice as this is made, it is impractical as a weapon. Who they hell needs to shoot the meat they are cleaving with this thing? The attachment would probably fall off when striking something with it (probably when you fire it), so you have to fire the smoothbore round before you need to start swinging. You need to fire it before they are in melee range, and it would be inaccurate at that range.
A gunblade is better with a tapered point like a bayonet. Preferably with the barrel parallel with the angle of attack of the blade point, like a bayonet. If it jams or you miss, at least your blade is still pointed in the right direction.
