Cadet camp is pretty great, they get paid to go. Room, board, and a $200/week stipend. It's meant to compensate for them not being able to get Summer jobs in order to attend.

Your kids are free of the indoctrination institutions for 3 months. Teach them things. How to drive a car. How to fix a car. Some wood working. Plumbing. You know,stuff that'll help them (and you) save money on repairs. Teach them construction and know they can build a house if they need to.
Get them a summer job. Teach them to hate being a corporate wagie early so they're motivated to be their own boss while they're young.
Doing odd jobs for cash is always a quick way to get untaxed income.
Teach them to build guns and reload ammo so they're ready when the race war comes home. Bombs would be nice too. But only as a means of defense. Not to attack anyone. Hunting and fishing is good too.
