More of a personal spot for me. This pulley driven elevator took me from suburbia with the church/college/school spots to downtown. Where there were ledges in alleys, pavillions unoccupied, good stair sets, parking decks with great manual pads at the top where we could watch the sun sink. Easy to get to industrial areas with loading decks. The nice ladies that operated it stop charging me cause I came and went so often. Usually with friends but sometimes solo.

I have never heard of this. Interesting little curiosity.

Apparently one of the steepest climbs for any rail system.

I've been on this a few times. The sign says a doctor had it built so he could take afternoon naps at home or something like that, right? The climb is much more vicious than the picture shows.

Yes, I believe that's correct.

It is. Folks I've taken on it get terrified. It goes so slow you could just step off though.

Yeah, if anyone is ever there, ride it. Take your kids. Just off each side of the pic are little shops for your women to waste your money in.

It was either that or the dangerous highways. Not too mention a hot goth Shana lived near there. Took us to the heart of downtown. The tourist sector. At mcds by the police station and laughed when they found plants near it.

Looks like a lovely city to grow up in. Architecture is great.

It was. DBQ was the shit. Mostly German Catholic. We had a wood trail that we built ramps out of dirt into. Hung around the trestle railroad tracks. Scaled boulders and sat watching the sun set. We could see the rich folks houses from there. First time I saw a playboy. Fist time I had a smoke was down there. It was a home away from.

Way better than I thought it'd be. It was 90%+ back then.

And only 6% nigger. Really sounds like the best you can hope for in a small city.

At one point in the town's history they tried importing section apes. They left really quick.

Worker's on the cog railway on Mt. Washington looked forward to the end of their shift so they could ride The Devil's Shingle down.
