If he is a serious historian or archeologist he is not going to use terms like hyperborean or ante-diluvian except in the context of the usage of the ancient people who created these concepts. Ancient greeks and romans would have only known about celtic and germanic tribes north of them. Before them you have Battle Axe culture. Before them you have corded ware, pitted ware and bell beaker cultures. Before that you had globular amphora culture and before that funnel beaker culture. That just gets you back 6000 years ago. All these groups are genetically distinct (from genetic testing of remains) white people who spoke different languages.

Before that point you have hunter gatherer groups living in northern europe (also genetically distinct by region and period). And we know what they looked like and what their genetics were and what their technological levels were, going back to around 40 or 50 thousand years ago. Hyperborean doesn’t begin to characterize the chronology and variety of all these groups. Theres plenty of good reliable science on the subject of prehistoric european cultures.
