A modern war on the scale of nato east vs Russia required 10,000 155mm shells per day.
And that is just a half a million man army. (Small historically).
It has taken usa 3 years to reach that level of production which is 1/3 of what Ukraine needed (they no longer have the tubes to shoot this many).
And usa provides the vast majority of shells nato+ needs collectively.
Never mind to that in the last 3 years drones have eclipsed artillery as the primary infantry killer.
