It mostly works like that. Obviously you have not ran into games that wont work or textures wink in and out or multiplayer doesn't work. You seem happy. Eat some glass.
I hear ya. I fessed up; told the executive I fucked up and hit the wrong object and would make it right. Don't worry about the job loss; that is just the universe getting you out of a shit situation. There are always better opportunities.
I hit the wrong machine with a remote wipe (an executive) back in 2008(ish). I only did that once. I still have that memory pop up from time to time; body temp goes up 2 degrees every time. After that I would just use MDT for imaging and push installs through Powershell. Ah the good ol days.
CMD/Powershell is very similar to a Linux terminal. You have to run "sudo" if it is an admin command. In Windows you have to use "runas", unless you run powershell as an admin; or change the user to "su" in Linux. Taskbar shortcuts depend on your desktop environment. If you are running Cinnamon, you can just right click and pin. If you are running XFCE you have to modify the bar by adding a launcher and tying that launcher to the bar. Linux has loads of desktop environments; the best Windows copy cats are Plasma and Cinnamon. I had the same complaints the first time I loaded up Ubuntu (this was probably version 8 or so; a decade ago), Ubuntu, Mint, Manjaro; all work great out of the box now-a-days. Give it a shot when you have some time to play around. You will be surprised. For gaming; Proton is not ready. Graphic glitches, crashes, weird shit. IT IS getting there though. Steam getting involved will (has) greatly improve Proton and if it gets popular enough games devs might start making more games that run natively.
I am an I.T. pro and have a LOT of machines. If the machine cannot play video games it has Linux Mint. If it can play video games, it has Windows 10 or 11 AND Linux Mint. Some day Proton will be finished and M$ can eat a dick.
Up = Good. Nothing = Neutral. Down = Niggerfaggot. On the internet where we are communicating without tone, body language, and often censoring our selves (except here); the voting system is one of the tools that helps with a text only environment.
Proton show promise but it isn't going to replace Windows any time soon. Firm believer Linux can replace Windows in all facets, except gaming. (currently)
I agree. I don't think they block this information because they don't want us to know about lost civilizations; they don't want us to know why they were lost... Some sort of reoccurring slate wiping. It sort of makes sense from a karma/spiritual aspect; if we are here to learn to be better beings, advancing to WEF/Cyborgs would sort of mess that spiritual growth up, so the server gets wiped regularly to restart progression.
It's worth about 300 then you add the pink tax to get 700. My Herman Miller is really nice but if you slouch even the smallest bit it will give you hemorrhoids, don't ask me the science behind it; it just does.

You can disable Windows updates through group policy. Although; Windows 8.1 is my favorite Windows of all time so up vote to you.

It was appropriate. If it were not for my three ad-blocks running concurrently, the internet would appear fake "AD" gay.

No doubt with Azure. Even with SCCM, MDT and WDS. Linux is good for a lot of things, but in a business environment; Windows is king.

It is. I have a Steamdeck and am impressed with what Proton can do; isn't perfect, but getting there.

You can run Windows 11 without TMP enabled or available. You just have to change a registry key during installation.
