Every Saturday afternoon we will be posting a little teaser which will test our readers' knowledge of British history and landscape and take us on some interesting journeys. We have placed a trail of clues to help you find a British treasure; not to be confused with the legendary Thirteen Treasures our quarry might be a Roman ruin, a 7th Century carving, the gatehouse of a Norman castle, a medieval guildhall or a more recent memorial to some important event in the history of our nations. Follow the clues and work out where that treasure is.

It’s surprising to learn that this town was once an island. The OS map shows the town centre 4 metres above sea level, almost a mountain in these parts. Once home to the country’s largest railway marshalling yards some of which can still be seen but former areas of the yards are now, in a manner of speaking, escape proof.

The town’s post office is unusual in that it is one of only a handful in the entire country displaying the royal device from the brief reign of Edward VIII. Also unusual and totally unique is the town’s church which is today's "treasure". It is the only one dedicated to this saint, a princess who became a nun. The church is known for its double-hammer beam roof along with 120 carved angels.

are entirely legal as they criticize immigration, but it isn't the leaflet the Police are interested in.

They will be trying to find out if the person delivering the leaflet was intending to incite hatred by delivering it.

In Scotland a statue of
Adam Smith
has been targeted for removal, despite Smith being against slavery.

go over the weekend’s news before Enoch Powell and the Falklands War.

The Left finally got some non-politicised policing over the weekend, after protesting feminists were arrested for breaking Covid regulations.

They were protesting about women not feeling safe on Britain’s streets, but it is not just women, everyone is now less safe on Britain’s streets after we invited people from less law-abiding countries to move to Britain.

In Scotland the Hate Crime Bill was passed, which makes it a crime to voice thoughts that are not flattering to minorities within your own home, something that could now be policed by devices such as Alexa.

As a protection for free speech, the MSP’s simply repeated a law that we already had in the wording of the Bill, so there were no new protections created to prevent malicious prosecutions for criticising government policy concerning minorities.

Enoch Powell thought the Falklands campaign was positive for Britain and Max goes into great detail explaining exactly what happened during this war.

General Galtieri the dictator of Argentina and the man responsible for the invasion was deposed shortly after, but Britain did not get reparations or a guarantee they would not invade again.

look at the legal immigration routes provided to Jews during the Third Reich.

Most people think Jews were prevented from escaping from Germany during this time, but the National Socialist State did all that it could to help Jews who wished to emigrate.

There was no reason for Jews to wish to move, until ‘world Jewry’ declared war upon Germany in the world’s press and started a global economic blockade.

This caused public opinion to change towards them, but there were still many who preferred to stay and saw themselves as Germans first and Jews second.

It is a distributed, Free Speech platform, released under a Free Licence.

If you haven't tried it yet, take a look. There are a few tricks to learn, like almost every sub is NSFW, even cooking! To see them all, you need to enable NSFW in options. Also, for security, thumbnails are disabled, so you will need to enable that too if you want to view images in the client.

People often misunderstand a Terms of Service (ToS) statement on the Aether website. The ToS pertains to the website forum for Aether, which is used for logging bugs etc. Speech is Free on Aether, to the extent that the laws of the USA permit, which is as much as anywhere.

The moderation system is such that you can impeach a mod you don't like and have them replaced, if enough people feel the same way.

Aether is due for a major new update any day now, so it is a good time to check. The project is funded through purchases of a different application, which is not required, and this is available on the Aether website.

I am glad to see the feeling of Voat here again, but unfortunately, a centralized, HTTP website, using Cloudflare, is just repeating the mistakes of history and I fear doomed to failure. Hopefully not, but there you are.
