"on my way to work" was the first song I remember downloading. Very moody and thought provoking. These were the days before being spoiled for choice, so I started looking for his CDs.
"Lifted" was the next album I found cruising Barns N Noble. An unexpected surprise! I was hooked after that. It was an avalanche of fandom from there. I have no idea why I relied on music outlets when we had the internet to order from (2003). I eventually found the other albums in retail stores. All a collection of special moments that I will treasure.
The dual release of IWAIM and Digital Ash was pre-ordered directly from Saddle Creek because of an order form discovered in the "love nothing" single I found at the mall. They both arrived with a special thank you note. I preferred Digital Ash while the internet seemed to enjoy IWAIM more.
Anyway, I will never have that feeling again. The treasure hunt that my Amazon subscription made obsolete. Feels bad man.
The Carter family is an American treasure. I was lucky enough to stumble upon their greatest hits collection around 20 years ago and soak in all of the warmth and passion held in the melodies and lyrics.
It was in those songs that I first gained the abality to understand how to sing in key. The mystery was somehow revealed through that collection of songs.
I loved dropping this red pill of a coworker. I followed it up with Jewish women not being allowed to show their hair, so they play smarter than God by covering their natural hair and wearing a wig.
I took it as putting forth the idea that even when people are faced with an obviously life threatening danger, their programming would prevent them from taking the necessatsteps needed to save themselves simply out of fear of seeming to be racist or antisemitic.
They will call us racist! Better to die than have that happen.

Looks gorgeous. How is the intonation with the strings in place?
Purple heart is wonderful because of the slow and dense growth. I wonder if manufacturers avoid it because of simply the "tone", or the cost.

This reminds me of when we had an ice storm and could not get a feed belt running to feed the farm animals because of a lack of power.
My dad took the arm of the chainsaw off and connected a drive belt directly to the part that turns the chain.
It worked. Animals were fed while other shitty farmers let their animals go hungry.
