Wrong.

KEEP DAYLIGHT SAVINGS YEAR ROUND.

Fuck it being light at 6am, I'd rather have sub at 9pm.

Summer is daylight savings time. Keep it year round and have more light in the evening.

Then wake up earlier, you fucking retard.

[ - ] con77 0 points 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 10:25:57 ago (+0/-0)

Hell yeah

[ - ] Feelsgood 0 points 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 10:43:09 ago (+0/-0)

Watching the sun rise on your way to work is often majestic.

[ - ] GoatsAdvocate 1 point 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 15:48:26 ago (+1/-0)

It’s a pain in the ass driving towards it setting though.

[ - ] rage 0 points 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 15:24:39 ago (+0/-0)

Sounds like distracted driving.

[ - ] PygmyGoat 0 points 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 11:51:45 ago (+0/-0)

I agree. “Standard” time is only 4 months out of the year now so it’s no longer standard. I suspect the only reason they keep this time change around is because it benefits the (((banks))) and (((wall street))) somehow. Making money in the hour gained or lost behind the scenes.

[ - ] Had 0 points 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 14:05:28 ago (+1/-1)

Noon is noon no matter what the clock says. Just get up at the same "time" each day. Don't let the numbers on the clock tell you anything, time is based on earth's rotation wrt the sun.

Having the clock match solar time makes more sense than changing it because "I want more light in the evening."

[ - ] ButtToucha9000 0 points 3.5 yearsNov 8, 2021 11:41:10 ago (+0/-0)

Time counting isn't important for the natural movements of the earth it is important for societal structure. Our society does not work the same way it did 200 years ago and more sunlight later in the societal clock rotation makes for more productivity.

[ - ] Had 0 points 3.5 yearsNov 8, 2021 17:21:07 ago (+0/-0)

Our society does not work the same way it did 200 years ago and more sunlight later in the societal clock rotation makes for more productivity.

Prove your retarded premise.

Most people aren't impacted by the sun for work since they work indoors, and those that are impacted don't care about what time the clock shows, they work while the sun is up. I prefer solar time because in the summer when I'm done working outside, stores are closed.

[ - ] ButtToucha9000 0 points 3.5 yearsNov 9, 2021 15:45:55 ago (+0/-0)

YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS THE RETARDED.

Daylight greatly affects activity, specifically after work. The vast majority of workers have set hour schedules, and longer afternoon hours means more daylight leisure time. It's not everyone else fault you don't stop working till the sun goes down.

[ - ] Shitstartercarter 5 points 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 09:10:45 ago (+5/-0)

Yup dark when you go to work, dark when you get out of work. They constantly talk of getting rid of it, but as everything goes with government it is always a shitshow and never happens.

[ - ] HughBriss 5 points 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 09:13:05 ago (+5/-0)

Arizona does not observe daylight saving. My state could, but they're too busy importing illegal aliens and encouraging niggers to commit crime.

[ - ] AOUsYamaka 6 points 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 09:17:30 ago (+6/-0)

Niggers don’t wake up until 2pm.

You can always tell you're living in an autocracy when the will of the people is routinely ignored, even in small things like DST. I recall California's Proposition 187 was passed by a wide margin in 1994. It was immediately challenged and over time rendered moot and unenforceable by numerous appeals and challenges. It really told California residents who was in charge, and it wasn't the tax paying, voting public.

I wish I hadn't voted last year. I was still a fucking idiot and had some hope for deep state actor Trump. That was before I realize I'd been fooled, which is uncharactistic of me because I'm usually pretty cynical.

I tracked my ballot's receipt online and found it wasn't even counted until three days after the election. I'm familiar with the process and mechanics of elections in my county and this sort of thing is an anomaly, to say the least. It told me that they were making up the numbers as they went along, and all I did was keep my name in the pool for jury selection.

That's a very common experience. The day after the election was when I realized that the US had been taken in a bloodless coup d'etat. Everything that happened was just actors playing their part in the script.

Hate this shit. Guy on the radio this morning said it's safer for kids going to school in the morning. What about 100 million people getting home from work in the dark?

[ - ] lord_nougat 1 point 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 12:48:11 ago (+1/-0)

That's just a white people problem. You racist.

[ - ] con77 1 point 3.5 yearsNov 8, 2021 09:29:22 ago (+1/-0)

made me laugh for realz

[ - ] big_fat_dangus 1 point 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 17:04:44 ago (+1/-0)

Agree dst is gay as fuck. I'm out on the shortest bike ride I do and it's almost dark already at the half way point.

[ - ] thebearfromstartrack4 1 point 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 13:14:39 ago (+1/-0)

Even the farmers HATED it at first (cows don't recognize it. They use COW time. MILK ME NOW!).

[ - ] Zyklonbeekeeper 1 point 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 13:12:30 ago (+1/-0)

I remember working underground hard-rock mining back in the late 70s, down the skip before sun-up and back on surface after sun-down...never saw daylight for 10 days straight for almost 3 months, Nov. - mid Jan...it made us animals.

[ - ] Ragnar 1 point 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 10:08:55 ago (+1/-0)

Yep!

[ - ] UncleDoug 1 point 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 09:47:26 ago (+1/-0)

The purpose of daylight savings is to facilitate trade with neighbours.

But all the container ships are waiting to access ports.

The purpose of daylight savings is to facilitate trade with neighbours.

How so...?

[ - ] UncleDoug 0 points 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 11:06:15 ago (+0/-0)

Daylight Savings can sometimes facilitate international trade, especially in island nations as not all nations observe it. They can make more money on exports outside of their tourism-based economies in the offpeak season. Giving them more time to trade gives them a greater opportunity to access markets for a longer period on any given day.

Moderate changes in sleeping patterns can also influence investment decisions in the first few weeks of daylight savings for traders.

Domestic retail trade is also affected outside of peak retail season in the warmer months as it actively encourages more foot traffic outside with the extension to daylight hours.

Overall it's pretty negligible and many countries are considering scrapping it altogether.

It doesn't really have anything to do with electricity. Read the first article I listed.

Pacific Island nations in the Pacific are export dependant offseason. Everyone trades electronically, it just allows for more traffic for a long period of time to send more natural resources to industrial economies.

The original use of daylight saving is to make better use of daylight and save energy/utilities/electricity.
Quite quickly on it was understood there was a trading potentiality as there was an increase in domestic leisure expenditure.

There's still just 24 hours in a day though...regardless, that seems like the most unimportant reason to think of to justify something 90% of people hate.

[ - ] UncleDoug 0 points 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 20:52:27 ago (+0/-0)

There's still just 24 hours in a day though

Yeah so if the West coast of the USA wants to trade with the Caribbean and they are +3, having DLS means they get one extra hour right for day trading to +2 as the Caribbean is East of the USA right.

There are still the same amount of daylight hours but the difference between the two is temporarily less allowing for more trade, get it?

[ - ] HughBriss 1 point 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 09:10:47 ago (+1/-0)

Agreed. Nothing more needs to be said.

At some point, you realize your entire reality is against you and wants you dead.

Since this post is happening today i think it’s important to note, you actually love daylight savings time because we just switched off dst and back onto shorter daylight scheduling.

I get what you meant, I just wanted to be a cheeky bastard.

[ - ] mikenigger 0 points 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 11:09:00 ago (+0/-0)

the gayest thing about DST is the different start and end times across the world

[ - ] Nosferatjew 0 points 3.5 yearsNov 7, 2021 10:48:30 ago (+0/-0)

Yup.
