Some of you know I drive an old truck with 300k miles on it and that I’ve been happy with it overall. I also have another truck on non-op that I was keeping in case this one goes down. I was considering retiring the current high mileage truck and slapping a lift kit and paint job on the other one and rolling like that for a few more years. Then it dawned on me that every one of my employees drives a newer car/truck that I, and also, I probably look like a Mexican farm worker to the cops in my old truck.
I was trying to go the conservative route and just not spend a bunch of money on something I don’t really need. But, as I look around me and realize I’m driving old junk, that I truthfully am feeling a little insecure in, in that I’m wishing not to break down on the side of the road, I decided it’s time. I’ll keep this truck for ten years at least. The current two are 18 and 22 years old.
