Sydney to be transformed with new ‘micro-cities’ including high-density housing and commerce, entertainment precincts Large parts of Sydney will be transformed with ‘micro-cities’ that will leave some suburbs totally unrecognisable, in a bid to solve the capital’s crippling housing crisis.
A housing crisis that the government has created through a concerted effort these last 21 years.
Solution, sell the land to foreign investors to keep lobbyists happy and sell floating prisons to the citizenry.
“We’re focused on getting the balance right, between building new homes and protecting the character of communities.
An ambitious affordable housing target of 10 to 15 per cent of all dwellings has been set.
15% of housing set to be affordable, not 90%, just 10-15%. What is considered affordable? If property, it costs less than 30% of gross household income. Average income in Australia is now $98K. How many people do you actually know that earn a six-figure salary?
“The number of multi-units approved for construction in the first three months of 2024 fell further to be the lowest volume since April 2012,” stated HIA’s Chief Economist, Tim Reardon. “There is growing evidence that the volume of new detached homes commencing construction will reach a trough in 2024, albeit, at its lowest level since 2012.
“It is possible to build the Australian Government’s target of 1.2 million homes over the next five years, but it will require significant lowering of taxes on home building, easing pressures on construction costs, and decreasing land costs,” concluded Mr Reardon.
But the government doesn't want to because it affects politicians property portfolios.

No, the faggot didn't read. Massive apartment complexes to "address housing shortages" means only one thing...and I shouldn't have to spell that out.
