I base the majority of my opinion on easily observable facts. Such as the disparity in prosperity between Christian and non-Christian nations. That's not to say a nation has to be based in Christianity in order to prosper, but there does seem to be a strong correlation between following Christian ideals and successful outcomes compared to other religions.
