Some of that pooling on the left is from where we flushed the lines prior to capping them off.
Plants will be in holes in fabric spaced precisely at emitters on the drip tape, so there shouldn't be an issues with the plants themselves getting watered.
Big step up from last year. I'll update with more pictures as we get planted!
We probably could sell some if we wanted, but we mostly plant for our own storage and sharing with friends and family.
We have about 12 acres in front of the house that we intend to do a cash crop of lavender in the future. Wife is working with test plants now to get our working knowledge up on it.
I hope there will be lots of bees! I intend to provide them homes. Our strategy is to make it a full time jobs if we can figure out the logistics on it, and I'd do the beekeeping as a side business. Lavender honey sells for a premium.
Also, once your plants are up high enough you add wood chips, then each year after you just add a new layer of wood chips. Less work in the long run I feel.
I've tried news paper and cardboard in the past. The grass/weeds we have is so aggressive, the moment the paper gets wet, it spears right through it. Weed fabric is about the only thing that can stop it short of inches of wood chips. I don't much care for wood chips in the garden as they don't break down quickly enough. We till each year so I'd end up having to add more wood chips every year and would end up with more wood chips than soil, lol.
My goal this year is to smother and kill all major weeds and grass around inside edge of garden. Then use an herbicide to kill anything within a foot or two of the garden. If I can hold it at bay this year, my goal is to redo my fencing and lay down heavy mulch/ rock around garden to keep the bad plants from trying to migrate in.
Have you tested how much water the emitters produce, and how much each plant will receive? I tried the adjustable bubblers, and had to remove them to get a free flow of water. I also made a closed loop to get even pressure because I'm trying gravity feed from barrels. I am also trying soluble fertilizer every two weeks. Keep the pics coming and great job.
They're rated at 0.25 gph and are spaced at 6 inches. We laid the tape down and planted at the emitters. We do have ball valves on each run, so we can be somewhat selective if we don't want a particular row to get watered at a given time, but it's not the best setup.
I'd like to zone each crop and control with arduino the watering amount and frequency by plant, but that's a future project.

Lavender is so beautiful, but soooo many bees. I had no idea it was a cash crop.
