admit it, your fav gun uses .223 Remington , not NATO SS109 M855 5.56mm.

Most military barrel/police barrel ar15 carbines sold are .223 and 1:9 twist.

if you shoot 62g loads in a 223 a lot then you swap barrel for 1:7

nato is always the same 62 load, so nato always uses 1:7 twist

but some people love bullets that do not vaporize rabbits and small game, so those people prefer 1:9 and less gunpowder

lots of web sites mention that many gun enthusiasts need to be aware of twist
