earth is Noahs Ark. Aliens can travel at speeds beyond the speed of light, but its very expensive to do so, so in order to save every species they find on some remote planet about to die because its suns burns out, or vacuum decay reaches it, the aliens just put that species on earth, and watch it like big brother. thats why we have so many different animals on earth. we are noahs ark. and we are the hunger games... yet, aliens look exactly like us, so they dont need to hide, they can just walk among us.
