The Hebrews actually set themselves up they were given two choices wisdom or the law and they thought the law was easier to follow than just asking for wisdom. The law was never meant to be followed the law in of itself was to show them that they will always be in folly. They have failed over and over and over so God gave them up. Believe it or not, first time I ever heard about this practice was 20 years ago on NPR. Of course it was a puff piece though. It was some kike reporter interviewing her grandma about it. And my eyes began to slowly open.
