I worked with a college girl who confidently stated that her professor said that the human body loses 7 grams or some stupid number upon death. (the soul) I laughed and told her that was an urban legend. She was highly offended that I had the nerve to contradict her professor.

95% of my professors were incompetent, idiots, or both. The few that were good, were really fucking good and basically taught me everything I needed to get by.

That or students misunderstand their professors. The professor probably brought up the concept to discuss it. The student's five minutes of attention span waxing and waning in and out over the course of an hour led them to think any discussion of the concept was the same as it being true.

PHDs are the worst.
Like soldiers and horses, they go through a grueling experience that breaks then down and makes them perfectly obedient.
Doctors never question authority, especially because they believe themselves to be so smart: everybody has always told them so.

Many college grads get over this. PHDs are way too dug in.

I learned over the years in school, maybe by the 3rd year, that most profs aren't that smart.

Many could not explain things very well and did not have a deep understanding of the material. They just copied the explanation out of the text or searched online.

Working at a university in my 20s really showed me just how amazingly stupid some professors and staff are (I was support staff, not academic, but I worked directly with education faculty frequently).

Definitely not all the professors I worked with were bad, a couple I was even impressed by and thought had a legitimate (rare) passion and talent for teaching. There were several more however who had about as much wits about them as a cat high on nip.

tl;dr college education is over rated and professors are over glorified similar to healthcare professionals.

A STEM professor of mine admitted that they lied to their 1st year students just to see how gullible they are. It is hilarious when you see these retarded sheep lap up everything, like what my professor said!

He is one of the very few based ones left. Even chided me for quoting him as being correct in my report as he said "Even I could be wrong!"
