Image quality is nothing flash .. I took the piccy on an iPhone, whereas the files are 2 mb which is more than the image host will handle, so they resized it to a thumbnail then I had to expand the thumbnai to get a workable image .. anyone know any way to ease the process ??
Yeah although I get on ok with the magpies I don't feed 'em for that very reason, once you feed one the whole tribe turns up with a battery of ButcherBirds all demanding food .. the BB's don't look like much, they will hold whole households to ransom if you have been feeding them then stop.
There is some percentage gain in feeding the BBirds however, there is an introduced species called the Spotted Turtledove called "Cuckoo Birds" in some places, which set up an incessant coo-coo-cooo all day enough to drive you mad, they eyeball you if you go outside and ButcherBirds hate 'em.
I was driving home from work and a BB was dragging the corpse of a fresh killed Cuckoo Bird across the road, it was a "bull bird" that had a particularly aggressive call it was the last one I ever saw around here .. the neighbors feed 'em not me though I reap the benefits without being bullied by the butchers. Edit.
I can relate to that .. my sister and I were bailed up by crows after our Mother dumped us near a school sports field when we were young, the ground was watered every day from an underground bore thus it was the only green spot in the South Australian desert town, there must have been about eighty of them.
They were at the far end of the ground about two hundred meters away before they began moving as a group in our direction, facing away yet stepping sideways they came closer and closer until with the nearest ones to our front about twenty meters away, they began to form the classic "Bull Horns" configuration Cape Buffalo use when they attack attack lions.
Thus the ones at the wings would get around behind us while the main body advanced to our front encircling us, Julius Caesar used a variation of the same tactic in his victory over the Republican forces of Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus at the 48 BC Battle of Pharsalus .. she and I had to decamp into the school lunch shed.
That's crows for you I reckon they would have killed us .. Mother was gone about four hours she returned without a word and told us to "get in the car," it wasn't the first time she dumped us nor the last, the next time some old man approached and started talking dirty he was arrested for a similar offense days later. No .. my grandmother was the last practicing Jew in my line, she tried to get me interested and at around 3 yrs of age presented me with a kippa, I was ok with it for a day or two where after receiving catcalls and satire from my uncles I told them "if I'm Jew you lot are as well," they weren't having that and fired back "we're not Jews you're the only Jew around here."
I had become suspicious by then after only that short time, grandmother who was from the Hebrew congregation in Glasgow Scotland, which arrived in that country from France in 80 AD at the height of the Diaspora, after they had gotten wind a Roman General with orders to slaughter the whole lot was on his way, thus since Scotland remained outside of the Roman Empire that is where they went.

I told her to "shove" the kippa shortly afterward mostly in response to her policy toward non Jews, she had told me that as a Jew she did not mix with the Scottish kids during her childhood, this was in the lead up to Winston Churchill's second tenure as British PM in 1954 and she was on about "damp Jews" night and day.
