I use iodized sea salt, and lots of it.

[ - ] Her0n -1 points 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 17:24:41 ago (+0/-1)

Do you eat a bunch of junk food?

[ - ] Nosferatjew 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 17:28:04 ago (+1/-0)

Not at all.

[ - ] Her0n 3 points 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 18:04:21 ago (+3/-0)

I wonder if that’s why I don’t crave junk food as much anymore. It was never an issue to resist before, but over the past two years I haven’t even craved it.

[ - ] mikenigger 3 points 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 13:54:57 ago (+3/-0)

I explained how "de-iodized" salt literally doesn't exist and yet you still use that word..

Is Mineral salt like Pink Himalayan or Dead Sea Salt contain iodine?

[ - ] mikenigger 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 17:15:47 ago (+1/-0)

No, iodized salt has to have ~30mg iodine per kg, naturally occurring salt doesn't have that much.

[ - ] toobaditworks 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 17:10:57 ago (+0/-0)*

Look on the package. It will say if it contains iodine or not. Superior Crystal sells it with iodine.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Superior-Crystal-Salt-Sense-Iodized/491489368

(Sorry for walmart link. I can't find the Superior Crystal website. That must be a package of more than one because it's not $50 for one. Don't kill me if it turns out to be a jewish brand. )

[ - ] voatersarefucktards 3 points 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 20:09:03 ago (+4/-1)

You know you can buy iodized salt. It's right next to the non-iodized salt. It's labeled very clearly on the label.

Fucking retard.

"The gubmint should be making sure I get what I need!!!"

Kill yourself. Now.

[ - ] Prairie 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 02:29:07 ago (+1/-0)

This was his point. Iodized salt, salt gets put on junk food, so you crave junk food for its iodized salt. Retard^2.

[ - ] voatersarefucktards 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 08:01:37 ago (+0/-0)

Right. It's a grand conspiracy. {chuckle}

[ - ] Prairie 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 22:55:29 ago (+0/-0)

Rube Goldberg conspiracy theory.

[ - ] mikenigger 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 14:11:13 ago (+1/-0)

"The gubmint should be making sure I get what I need!!!"

Even more retarded: the government already regulates iodine content for table salt

[ - ] yesiknow 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 16:03:37 ago (+0/-0)*

I usehas ordinary iodized table salt in the bread machine. It's simpler than going to a store to buy bread that ingredients I didn't ask for. I don't have to buy anything special. If anon hadn't finished with "go buy a product" His thread, or product would have gone over better.

[ - ] UncleDoug 2 points 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 23:46:54 ago (+2/-0)

What is this retarded conspiracy theory?

They add an option for iodine to salt for people that are deficient in that mineral. They dont "de-iodise" it. If you dont want it, dont eat it.

If you don't eat a lot of fish or dairy or are pregnant you may require iodine because you body needs that mineral to make thyroid hormones.

Pregnant women can be at risk of stillbirth, miscarriage or cretinism in babies if they don't get enough dairy and fish.

De-iodized the salt, wtf? this is like 5G retarded nonsense from Q-anon, this is the rights version of leftardation.

[ - ] mikenigger 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 13:58:31 ago (+0/-0)

I told OP the term is nonsensical before he made this thread.

[ - ] GrantingGrace 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 13:05:33 ago (+2/-1)

I have cold sensitivity in my hands, can't hold a jug of milk unless I take iodine. I take four to five drops a day in a drink.

You can buy bromine free flour. It's what I use when I make bread.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 3 points 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 14:25:20 ago (+3/-0)

You are a female. (Haha you’re outted) you have a higher risk of Hashimoto’s. Cold sensitivity is typical in Hashimoto’s. If you have family members with this or other autoimmune syndromes you may have it. Have you had a thyroid panel done lately?

[ - ] GrantingGrace 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 01:13:41 ago (+1/-1)

I haven't had one run since I first contracted Lyme, and I'm not sure what they ran then, but I can look. No known Hashimotos in the family, but the Lyme is definitely autoimmune!

[ - ] PostWallHelena 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 12:47:35 ago (+1/-0)

I didnt realize that lyme was autoimmune. I just thought it was the bacteria that hadn’t been wiped out. Thats interesting.

It seems that susceptibility to one autoimmune disease does indicate susceptibility to other ones, probably because of genes controlling certain traits on your immune cells. But women are much more susceptible for reasons I dont fully understand and Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism is the most common autoimmune disease. Other symptoms could be crappy nails, brittle or thin hair. But you wouldn’t necessarily have those symptoms. My nails are really brittle if I dont get my synthroid. And I hate cold. I mean I hate it.

Just complain to your gp that you have a bunch of the symptoms and other people in your family have it. Its just a cheap blood test.

Hope your Lyme is under control.

[ - ] GrantingGrace 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 30, 2021 01:41:03 ago (+0/-0)

It wasn't too bad in fact while I was pregnant I felt the best I have in years. Now it's flaring really bad. I have hope though, I've discovered serrapeptase and monolaurin. Going to be taking these together with some other good things. We shall see if it clears things up. You should look into it for your issues, I've been impressed with what I've read.

Nails aren't brittle but I've lines on them now where I didn't a year ago. And I've been losing hair like crazy for years. I really don't know how I'm not bald, I guess because I have so much of it.

I might not be able to test for the hashimoto, since I've been taking these supplements (?). I know it interferes with diagnosing other conditions.

[ - ] Wabwabwab 2 points 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 14:14:50 ago (+2/-0)

Are you anemic?

[ - ] GrantingGrace 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 01:15:16 ago (+1/-1)

Not in the traditional sense, I can't recall what the term for it is but my blood cells are not sized uniformly, so the larger ones aren't able to carry and deliver properly as they should. I believe it's a side effect of Lyme disease.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 14:33:11 ago (+1/-0)

Iodine supplementation is not good for hashimoto’s and sorry it isn’t 0.000001%, its extraordinarily common probably due to overvaccination.

Japanese have the highest rates of Hashimoto’s, anon can suck a babydik himself. Iodine is called the goldilocks mineral for a reason. Stupid to imply you shouldn’t worry about getting too much.

[ - ] patchCodeUnsuccessful 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 22:15:52 ago (+0/-0)

My wife has hashimotos. If anything it's closer related to IBS as it activates when her body becomes inflamed from some form of food. This is also linked to the kidneys as she can't process out anything that causes her inflamation (usually at least 3x longer to process then me). If anything, what we found works best is melatonin as it's a strong antioxidant that chelates a lot of what causes her issues and ends up getting pooped out. But this is more of a maintenance therapy and not a cure. Hashimotos is kind of a bitch of a problem.

[ - ] 061916 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 15:01:50 ago (+1/-0)

So what's the verdict? The original voat post reads the same. Those who say it's bullshit and those willing to try but never reporting back. I guess that gives us the answer

[ - ] Bottled_Tears 2 points 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 15:47:53 ago (+2/-0)

I started taking vitamins earlier this year for the first time in life and iodine was always one of them because I kept reading how they have been purposely removing iodine from everything and how it severely affects humans.

I still crave junk food. I do feel more energized and sharper though.

Of course, this iodine thing is Jewish-related. Almost all salt brands are Jew-run. Naturally, that tells me that there is something nefarious about them removing iodine from salt, the top seasoning for centuries, and even a currency at one point.

[ - ] Broc_Liath 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 18:32:46 ago (+0/-0)

It's still a currency in parts of south america. I think it's been a currency more often than not throughout human history.

[ - ] toobaditworks 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 17:19:25 ago (+1/-0)*

I don't think it will keep you from eating junk food but your body does need iodine. Either use the salt with iodine or use iodine supplements or eat foods that have iodine.

https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/iodine-rich-foods

Seaweed (gross), Cod, Halibut, Pollock, Crab, Scallops, squid (gross!), Tuna, Milk, Cheese, Yogurt, Eggs, Iodized salt

you can get iodine in liquid form or tablets like below:

https://www.amazon.com/Foods-150mcg-Natural-Iodine-Tablets/dp/B0001T0CL2

I haven't found a better iodine than what infowars store sells but there might be some out there. X2 and X3

Jesus christ you guys are stupid af sometimes.

Table salt isn't "deiodized". It's iodized. It prevents clumping and caking.

Sea salt has naturally occurring iodine in it but not enough to prevent caking.

[ - ] pickingrinninspittin 3 points 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 08:20:19 ago (+3/-0)

Iodine is not a de-caking/clumping agent. Iodine was added to table salt when it was recognized that some people were not getting enough in their local diet due to differences in naturally available iodine across the country. Essentially farmers in the mid-west were getting goiters, a symptom of low iodine, but people that lived on the coast and regularly ate seafood, a great source for iodine, were not.

[ - ] ButtToucha9000 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 15:22:30 ago (+0/-0)

Mortons iodized salt was iodized to prevent moisture retention and caking.

Thats why their motto was when it rains it pours. Because it was added to prevent caking.

[ - ] pickingrinninspittin 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 19:33:23 ago (+0/-0)

Salt commonly contains anti-caking agents, but iodine is not one of them.

From https://www.zoutman.com/saltipedia/en/food-salt/salt-and-additives/ "Iodine is also a commonly used additive. It is naturally present in negligible amounts in salt and must therefore be added separately. The underlying argument for this additive is completely different to anti-caking agents. Iodine is a mandatory additive in many countries for public health reasons."

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 03:04:30 ago (+0/-0)

I don't know who "you guys" is. Only OP couldn't figure out that table salt is iodized. Still, I wonder if people are deficient.

[ - ] Kung_Flu 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 23:31:56 ago (+1/-0)

Huh? Junk food doesn't use iodized salt. Most people associate iodine with salt because of iodized table salt, and this leads to consumption of junk food.

It wouldn't surprise me if iodized salt has lost it's iodine, but junk food certainly isn't offering it to us.

[ - ] observation1 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 01:25:35 ago (+0/-0)

It does

Thankfully you can still buy iodized salt I have a giant Morton's container of it.

[ - ] fightknightHERO 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 28, 2021 16:35:03 ago (+0/-0)

Succinct as always Neko
i knew there was something in those Korean/Japanese Sea Kelp snacks i used to munch, i felt really good after eating those and i couldn't stop myself from munching down an entire packet of sea-kelp

i thought it was just the salt that made me addicted to it but it seems it was the Iodine

well, time to repurchase those in great quantities

[ - ] mikenigger 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 05:30:14 ago (+0/-0)

You can also just buy an iodine solution, it's not like your ancestors lived on imported seafood.

[ - ] fightknightHERO 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 11:46:38 ago (+0/-0)

our ancestors didn't have to drink fluoridated water or consume soy in every product (it's literally in everything, even bread, even gum!)

So from what i understand, if someone is wanting to increase their uptake of iodine (beneficial for the Thyroid) its cogent to also supplement the Adrenals (Herbal/ nutrients or purpose Adrenal Elixirs). Thyroid and Adrenal Glands are Sympatico, if one is not functioning optimally, the other will also struggle and have difficulty optimizing and metabolizing thus nullifying the complete benefit possible.

[ - ] JudyStroyer 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 29, 2021 07:51:36 ago (+0/-0)

Someone i know recently was diagnosed with hashimotos. This is an interesting thread.
